Large dip in the general market today with some recovery
The account value today is $264,722.27 starting from $240K on July 1st. There was a market dip with some recovery today, so I exited my large SOXS covered call position at a moderate but respectable gain. Also exited my more modest position in UVXY, again at a moderate gain. Sold some puts in TQQQ based on its significant drop in RSI, so it was probably a good time to effectively “buy low”. We will see if these puts expire worthless and I keep the option premium. If not, I will be put the stock at a low price lowered more by the option premium, so increasing this position probably will lead to a gain in the future. The Fear and Greed index is 62 (GREED) but not too high so the general market can continue its uptrend. NUGT has an extremely high RSI (i.e. 77) so gold is due for a reversal but this could occur in a few days or a few weeks. My cash position is high, but there is no clear indicator which position to increase in my basket of correlated and anti-correlated ETF’s.
This is an impressive result since July 1st. Which specific criteria did you use to change your positions?
